About Doctor Suzie
Doctor Suzie Schuessler was born into healthcare, following in the footsteps of her grandfather who was a surgeon. She takes a traditional approach to medicine that combines compassion with years of expertise.
After attending Samford University in Birmingham, AL, Dr. Suzie went on to medical school at University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). She completed her residency at The Children’s Hospital of Alabama – UAB. In 1988, she began practicing medicine in LaGrange, and opened her current office in 2000. Board certified in pediatrics, Dr. Suzie is licensed in both Georgia and Alabama. She is a member of several organizations, including: American Medical Association, Medical Association of Georgia, Troup County Medical Association, American Academy of Pediatrics (fellow and member) and Child Abuse Protocol Team. She is also on the staff at West Georgia Health System and is an assistant clinical professor for the Department of Community Medicine at Mercer University. In addition, she serves as preceptor for Georgia State University and Emory University.
Her focus is always on delivering the best possible treatment for each child. Beyond her medical expertise, Dr. Schuessler has a unique understanding of how to care for your child and come to them on their level. She also speaks Spanish, bridging the communication gap that often exists with our Hispanic families.
